Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is an upcoming video game developed by Koei Tecmo’s Team Ninja and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. It is the third installment in the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance series following 2006's Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and 2009's Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2, and the first Marvel game to be produced and published by Nintendo. It is set in an entirely different universe than the two previous games.[1]

Characters[edit]
The game's roster of playable characters combines many elements spanning all parts of Marvel media including the comics, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and more in terms of visual design, roster choice, and voice cast members instead of relying on one source compared to some previous games. Specific members of the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, the X-Men, the Inhumans, the Defenders, Marvel Knights, the Spider-Verse and the Midnight Sons makeup the majority of the playable cast members. Fantastic Four, and additional members from Marvel Knights and X-Men will be featured in as downloadable content via the post launch Expansion Pass.[2]
Story[edit]
The plot of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order will be an adaptation of the 1991 storyline The Infinity War with Thanos and the titular Black Order attempting to collect the six Infinity Stones in order to achieve galactic conquest against the wishes of the Avengers, the X-Men, the Guardians of the Galaxy, the Defenders, the Inhumans, Spider-Verse, the Midnight Sons, the Fantastic Four and Marvel Knights. The universe will be separate and different from the previous two Marvel Ultimate Alliance games, the MCU and comics. Many familiar locations have been revealed for the story including Asgard, The Raft, The X-Mansion and many more.

The game was first revealed at The Game Awards 2018.[3] The game is scheduled to be released on July 19, 2019.[4]
