Doom 2019 Multiplayer Maps
As expected, Bethesda saved its biggest game for the end of its E3 2019 press conference. Fans received a ton of new information for Doom Eternal including story details in a trailer as well as plenty of gory new gameplay. Surprisingly, the multiplayer mode was also featured though it’s quite different from what fans may be expecting this time around.

Known as Battlemode, this Doom Eternal PvP element dumps the previous arena style shooting in favor of a much smaller affair. Battlemode is now 2v1 multiplayer with two players serving as demons trying to kill the lone Doom Slayer in a best of 5 match. To help even the odds slightly, the lone player gets a full arsenal and can use glory kills to gain back health.
The demon duo, however, can pick from a bunch of Hell’s minions like the Revenant and Mancubus. The other bonus to being a member of the deamon team is that both players can spawn AI minions to try and overwhelm or corner the slayer player. Considering that the slayer has access to health restoring glory kills, spawning in too many minions could make things problematic for the demon players.

The other major piece to the Doom Eternal presentation was the reveal of the game’s collector’s edition. In addition to the Year One Pass, which includes two story expansions, the collector’s edition features a lore book, the Doom and Doom Eternal digital soundtracks, a lithograph, Steelbook game case, and an unlock code for classic weapon sounds and demonic slayer skin. The biggest part of this package is a wearable Slayer helmet complete with small LED lights, which was then showcased by a member of the audience with it on their head.
