Suga also known as Agust D, was born as 민윤기 (Min Yoon-gi) in Daegu, South Korea on March 9th, 1993. He is a South Korean rapper, songwriter, composer and producer of the septet K-pop boy group BTS.
Being inspired at the age of 12, after listening to Stony Skunk’s “Ragga Muffin” and Epik High’s “Fly” Yoongi begun to make a name for himself in the place he’s most proud of – Daegu. Yoongi wasn’t known as Suga or Agust D back then. As a Daegu underground rapper and producer, he did it under his real name, Min Yoongi and his stage name Gloss. This is the direct translation of his name “Yoongi” to English. To name some of his famous underground produced works, are songs such as 518-062 (A song based on the Gwangju Uprising in 1980) and Who Am I by Reflow. For “Who Am I”, best known underground rappers like Basick appreciated the song and thus did a remixed version of it.
In 2013, Min Yoongi debuted with BTS, under the name Suga (슈가). Soon after debut, with an interview with Cuvism Magazine Suga revealed the reason behind this stage name is:
Because my skin is pale, I’m pretty when I smile, and because I’m sweet. (laughs) I chose this name because I want to promote sweetly.
He also mentioned that he is named Suga because before debut, he used to play basketball and his position was a shooting guard. If you write “shooting guard” in Korean (슈팅 가드) the first two syllables will be “su” (슈) and “ga” (가)
Not only is he one of the three rappers in BTS, he has written and composed many BTS songs as well.
Aside from his activities with his fellow group members, he released his mixtape in 2016 under the stage name Agust D.
Suga has not only been producing for BTS but has also produced the high-charted song “Wine” by Suran along with “Song Request” by Lee So Ra and “Eternal Sunshine” by Epik High and still hopes to produce many more. 마지막까지 수정에 수정에 수정에 수정을 거듭하면서 믹스테잎을 완성시키고 공개를 했는데, 가사 검수를 정확하게 하지 못한 것을 발매되고 한참 뒤에 알게되었습니다. don’t fall away 라는 가사가 don’t far away 로 표기 되어 있었다는 걸요…이미 발표는 했고 수정하기엔 늦었고 뭐 어쩌겠습니까 하하하 그때 첫 믹스테잎이라 정신도 없고 하하 이 버젼에는 틀린 가사가 아닌 원 가사가 표기되어 있습니다. 이렇게 기회가 생겨 원 가사를 알려드릴 수 있어 다행이네용 즐겁게 즐겨주세요 :)

It feels unusual to work on AGUST D mixtape’s last track “So Far Away” with the members.
I think this version’s vibe is much closer to the style I intended rather (than the original version).
I repeatedly made changes, changes, and more changes until the end to complete the mixtape and revealed it but I realized that I did not check the lyrics thoroughly a long time after releasing the mixtape. “Don’t fall away” was written as “Don’t far away” instead. I had already released it and it was too late to make any changes so what could I do? hahaha I was too busy because it was my first mixtape haha. This version has the original lyrics due to this chance. I hope you will enjoy listening with joy :)
